About Me

I have lived in Brewton, AL since I was a child. Since my childhood the only thing I can ever remember wanting to be was a teacher. After high school I began that journey to make that come true. I attended Jefferson Davis Jr. College for 2 years. During this time I met and married my husband, Jim. After the birth of our twin boys I made the decision to stay at home and be a full time mom. During my children's school years I took the opportunity to substitute teach. I found that I had never lost the desire to be a certified teacher. When my boys left for college, so did I. I graduated from Auburn University Montgomery with a degree in Childhood Education. I began teaching in 2004 at Sidney Nelson Pre-Kindergarten Center. I taught Pre-K there for six years. When Sid Nelson closed in 2010 I was so fortunate to be moved to Molino Park Elementary. I still live in Brewton with my husband, Jim, and am a very proud grandmother to Charlie, Lillie, Palmer, Emmy and A.J.

Please check your child's backpack each day for their folder.Take out all papers and only put back into the folder papers that need to be returned. Keep the folder in their backpack at all times. Please initial your child's calendar each day to show that you are aware of what kind of day your child had. If your child is a bus rider please DO NOT remove the orange band from their backpack. This orange band needs to stay on the backpack the entire uear. If it does wear off we will replace it. If you are sending something for your child's breakfast please put it in a separate container (from their lunch if they happen to be bringing their lunch) and label it "Breakfast".

Your child has a Book Log in the back of their folder. I encourage you to read to your child several times a week. Remember to write the title of ALL books you read to your child on the Book Log. Please keep the Book Log in the folder at all times. There is a prize after you have filled up each page. There are four levels of prizes for the school year.

We check out books every Tuesday and the book is to be returned by the next Tuesday. Please read these to your child as often as you can. Listening to stories is a great way to spark imagination and a love for reading. Please have a special place for keeping this book in your home out of the reach of smaller children and pets. Keeping it in their backpack is a sure way of getting it back on time. They must bring the book back in order to check out again. Remind your child of Mrs. Hatch's 3 library rules; 1) No water (don't get the books wet), 2) No ripping (don't tear or color on the pages), 3) Bring it back by Tuesday.

Tennis shoes are encouraged for every day. They run and climb every day and need something safe on their feet. No sandals, boots or flip flops are permitted.
